About
근대 이후 현대미술은 이젠 더 이상 시각적인 미술이 아닌 오감을 통해 사유하는 미술이 되었다고 할 수 있다. 과거 미술이 지닌 이미지의 재현 방식이나 행위에 있어서 현대미술은 그 이상의 무언가가 필요하게 되었다. 이는 여러 분야의 발전과 더불어 미술에서도 많은 영향을 끼쳤으며 이제 회화나 조각은 본연적 제작 태도와 형식을 넘어서 사고하고 사유하게 되지 않을까 생각된다. 이러한 흐름은 이젠 장르의 경계도 모호해지고 미술이 눈으로만 읽어지는 것이 아닌 미술이 되었다고도 할 수 있다. 작가의 창작이란 미시적인 세계에서 새로운 형식의 발견이거나 무언가가 읽어지는 개념일 것이다. 이번 전시 Saem- 어쩌다 마주한 당신의 세계는 작가 고유의 시각과 사고를 통해 읽어지는 세계에 대한 이야기로서 어떤 풍경이나 현상을 통해 사유했던 것을 시각 이미지로 탄생시키고 이미지화되지 않는 내면의 숨은 그림을 찾는 것이다. 어쩌다 마주할 수 있는 작품의 내면 속 이야기와 당신이 사유하려는 경계 또는 임계점을 통해 또 다른 상상력을 발견하기를 바란다. Since the modern era, contemporary art has evolved to become more than just visual art; it has transformed into an art that engages all the senses. While traditional art focused on the reproduction of images and actions, contemporary art requires something beyond that. Influenced by advancements in various fields, art has also experienced significant changes, prompting painting and sculpture to transcend their inherent production attitudes and forms to become mediums of thought and reflection. This trend has blurred the boundaries between genres, making art something that is not only perceived visually. The act of creation by an artist involves discovering new forms within a microcosmic world or interpreting concepts that can be read and understood. The exhibition "Saem - The World You Encountered by Chance" is about exploring the world perceived through the unique perspectives and thoughts of the artist. It involves transforming contemplations of landscapes or phenomena into visual images and uncovering hidden inner pictures that cannot be visualized. Through the inner stories of the works you encounter by chance and the boundaries or thresholds you contemplate, I hope you will discover new realms of imagination. - Saem
